These camps are not to be confused with "going camping", although sometimes military troop tents provide the living quarters. These camps are a week long stay at a Royal Air Force Station either in the UK or Overseas.
Taking place either over Easter or during the Summer months these camps cost around £30 all-inclusive and allow cadets to explore an RAF Station and sample life in the RAF, as well as participating in intensive ATC training activities.

On RAF stations they will be able to experience many different career options to help them make decisions on their future. Not just RAF careers as many of the jobs they see on RAF stations also have civilian equivalents - such as air traffic control, police, engineering and catering.
The camps are a lot of fun with plenty of things to do such as sport, flying and visits to attractions in the area. Cadets also get the chance to visit parts of the RAF station and see how people live and work. The camps are not just for fun though. They also have a training purpose. Cadet have to look after themselves and maintain their kit and their rooms.

As cadets from different squadrons, and sometimes from different parts of the country, go on camps together it is a really good opportunity to start some new, long lasting friendships.
