Duke of Edinburgh's Awards
Aged 13 and upwards, the Air Cadets can put you at the controls of a fully aerobatic Royal Air Force G115 Tutor. For most cadets this is their first opportunity to fly in a light aircraft and to take the first steps towards learning to fly. Flights are typically 15 - 30 minutes in duration and yes, on second and subsequent flights you may get the opportunity to experience aerobatics and see the world from a completely different perspective!

Air Cadets Venture   For cadets looking to spend even more time at the controls, the Air Cadets offer gliding in Grob Vigilant and Viking Gliders. In these gliders students can complete Gliding Induction Courses GIC or the more prestigious Gliding Scholarship (GS) Program. Completing a gliding course involves a lot of hard work and successful students will complete their training with their first solo flight and they still aren't even old enough to drive a car.
